RE: Scare Me !!

supporting anecdotes:
- 102 of Fortune 500 have Internet "strike-back" capabilities

Name 5.
No, name 3.

I can't imagine that the legal departments of a single FORTUNE 500
firm would be so negligent as to bless such activity. Nor can
I imagine that anyone with a reasonable security background would
be so stupid. The only place that I've seen that (never at a
customer site) was in a particular hype-ridden article that was
promulgated based on an interview with a well-known industry
hypester.

- the terrorists that hit the Lockerbie flight targetted that exact
flight due to the larger numbers of what appeared to be US govt folks
as discovered from hacking into a Saaber ticketing system

Can you document this or provide a pointer to where any
reputable source has backed up such a claim?

Sounds like you've been reading "Information Warfare" or
Tom Clancy's "NetFarce" books, Joe... Don't give in to the
Disinformation of the dark side of The Force, Joe...
