My guess is more people are fighting them in court and they have a pending lawsuit against them.  Maybe they need more 
money.  J

Please refer to the thread Recent flurry of copyright violations in the RESNET-L list.

Some attribute it to a gnutella/limewire crackdown, others attribute it to a seasonal end of the academic year cleanup.
