Re: RIAA Notices

Same here; 120 so far this week, and we usually only see 1 or 2 a week.
Almost all that I've seen have been on the Gnutella network.

In the past it seemed like the RIAA was only going after the biggest
offenders, so we didn't have much problem since we severely rate-limit
P2P traffic. Now, I think they're just identifying any sharers on a
given network and send notices for all of them.

Please refer to the thread *Recent flurry of copyright violations* in
the RESNET-L list.
Some attribute it to a gnutella/limewire crackdown, others attribute it
to a seasonal end of the academic year cleanup.

Subject: [SECURITY] RIAA Notices

We have been inundated with RIAA notices this week - what we usually
get in 3-4 months we got this week! Is anyone else experiencing this
kind or increase?
