Opinions on certs security/network

Im on the hunt for some certs.  School is coming to an end and sadly i
haven't learned anything at all.
I have on net+ book but i mainly used to expand my knowledge on basic
networking and subnetting in my spare time.  I plan to struggle/rant to get
my A+ mainly sit down and read the material for A+ specific things, just so
HR will keep my resume >:( . Cisco certs seem to hold pretty well in this
industry. Ive looked at CEH and security+ and just laughed. I mean there has
to be some ethics in the business world, but they rarely mentioned tools and
techniques

What are some good indepth security related certs that are worth getting

Are all redhat certs specfic to the distro or does it expand onto a generic
linux background
