To my mind the issue is that he's still *profiting* from his crimes. That doesn't do justice to the victims, nor does it send the right message IMO. Crime should not pay.How so? He talks about how he would exploit security systems, and this is his area of expertise. The guy spent many enjoyable years in jail (on his knees?) which does not sound like 'crime pays' to me.
Well, imagine if it was some other kind of crime, say murder-for-hire. Presumably having murderers earn speaking fees (even after serving their sentence) would be frowned upon? Even if they were profiting from knowledge of how to assassinate people, seems wrong. Of course, if it was a non-profit activity, say part of community service or just good will, that changes things somewhat. Maybe it's time for this thread to die, though. \\ Eugene Kuznetsov, Chairman & CTO : eugene () datapower com \\ DataPower Technology, Inc. : Web Services security \\ http://www.datapower.com : XML-aware networks _______________________________________________ firewall-wizards mailing list firewall-wizards () honor icsalabs com http://honor.icsalabs.com/mailman/listinfo/firewall-wizards
