I have my "email for life" through my Alumni Assc. It's available for "members", which means dues paying or ones who bought lifetime membership. Certainly a way to get past the constraints, or off load such requests (from the school onto another entity). Jimmy

Sorry, I'm not 100% clear on the exact details, but as I understand it there may be a legal (Louisiana state) issue with a state funded institution such as ours from providing goods or services (such as an email account) to individuals (alumni) who are no longer enrolled or paying tuition. We just met with Microsoft on the Windows Live @ EDU program and are doing our homework as well. What kind of legal ramifications did you run into if you can share? We maintain our student staff email in-house, and there have been some (legal, business, capacity) questions concerning if we can continue to provide this service to students once they graduate. As an alternative, we are currently researching the possibility of using something like this for alumni email. http://www.imagine-wl.com/Education/ Brian Brian Doré Office of Information Systems University of Louisiana at Lafayette-----Original Message----- From: Brenda B Gombosky [mailto:brenda.gombosky () LOUISVILLE EDU] Sent: Wednesday, March 29, 2006 3:09 PM To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: Email for Life?
