Is anyone currently providing students, faculty, staff and/or alumni 'email for life'? If so how is this facilitated? In-house or third party. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
We provide "email for life" for students who graduate. The implementation errs on the side of simplicity: just keep their accounts active until evidence shows they haven't been reading email (this doesn't consider those who forward). There are longer term issues we still need to consider, and plans for a new architecture is planned (yes, a plan for the plan...). But, for the near future, the "email for life" accounts exist on the same mail systems as current falculty/staff/students and subject to the same features and restrictions as regular accounts. -- scott hollatz net shollatz () d UMn eDu information technology systems and services tel +1 218 726 8851 university of minnesota duluth mn usa fax +1 218 726 7674 -- "Asn aD ta zlAp em uT zt33rg"
