Hail,-- In the original post the poster noted that he/she "wouldn't think twice if it hadn't happened to 3 computers from 3 different vendors in 2 days". What are the chances of three different CPU-fans (or whatever) in three different systems dying natural deaths in 48 hours with the same BIOS message despite being from different vendors?... Bootsector virus, perhaps?.... Do you know if the fans are still in fact running? Ahem...Perhaps a warning tone that YOUR COOLING SYSTEM HAS FAILED?? This is not a security question, I'm not sure how it made it on to the list, but please take it to a hardware support forum. Most likely the fan is full of crud and has overloaded the fan header, try cleaning the fan, and swapping to a different header.
