Actually it is not in just those money making programs. It is also in common shareware and commercial application. I have seen it in other commercial applications. It is usually embedded in programs. You can download an ad-aware program (Ad-aware v3.61) from the freeware section of http://www.lavasoft.de/. This program inspects your computer for this spyware programs. AD-aware includes the detection and removal of Web3000, Gator, Cydoor, Radiate\Aureate, Flyswat, Conducent\TimeSink and CometCursor (1.0 and 2.0). A list of known spyware can be downloaded that same place. -- MJK ----- Original Message ----- From: "Russel Smith" <carlos () ARKPACIFIC COM> To: <VULN-DEV () SECURITYFOCUS COM> Sent: Sunday, September 10, 2000 11:36 PM Subject: Re: All Advantage Spyware
Everyone who is upset and suprised about the spyware installed on their
system
should read the fine print and agreements that they agree to when
installing
all there software its all there, its all legal, but most of us don't bother reading the 10
page
long agreements, At 05:54 PM 9/10/00 -0400, you wrote:See http://www.grc.com for additional
