Just a quick follow up to my earlier post...

I took a look at the info posted at:
http://home.cyberarmy.com/acecww/advert.txt
and while I'm not ready to say that the information there is
inaccurate...I will say that we have found no evidence that the advert.dll
does any of these things. What we have found is that the advert.dll file
taken from 3D-FTP, sends info regarding the 3D-FTP app and nothing more.
This tells me that there is more than one build out there. Is it possible
that there are different versions that do different things depending on
how intrusive the application developer is willing to allow his product to
be? Or, could it be that the advert.dll has been "de-fanged" after all the
bad publicity it has received? If anyone out there has an older version
they can send me I'd appreciate it. How do you tell if you have an older
version??? I dunno, look at the create date maybe. How old??? Once again,
I dunno, probably needs to be at least a year old.
