I feel compelled to speak up here, primarily because I'm an Army Veteran, a
former NCO, and have also worked in some capacity in Special
Operations/COMSEC in a former life.

Each and every soldier (including DoD Civilians) is to question authority
in the face of an illegal order, and you are obliged -- no, obligated -- to
decline to follow it.

This is a black & white issue, insofar as I am concerned.
