Visitor network - very small usage and for those people who don't have WPA2
capability

Unencrypted

OPEN with portal for authentication against ldap

Only 80, 443, vpn ports open

Encrypted network - student/staff/faculty
WPA2-AES

802.1x against AD

NAC with antivirus checks, antispyware checks, OS updates, firewall turned
on

Subject: [SECURITY] student wireless security model

I am curious what security model other universities are now using for their
student wireless networks.

- Encrypted or unencrypted

- Authentication (mac, 802.1x, web portal etc.)

- Any NAC security checks on the client

Thanks,

Jim
