Linda,

We went to Live@edu about two years ago. We went live in September 2008, I believe. It went fine until Microsoft had
some server issues in November of 2008 and student e-mail was problematic (for about 40% of the student body) for a
week or so. Since then it has worked just fine for us. We went with Live because we are an exchange campus for faculty
and staff and wanted something similar for our students. We will not be outsourcing faculty and staff e-mail in the
foreseeable future as we do not want institution data (especially confidential data) residing on non-institution
servers. If you would like the contact information for the person who led the Live implementation please feel free to
contact me off line.

Best,

Frank

Tufts is evaluating Live@edu vs Google for student email. We'd like to
hear from schools with Live@edu experience (good or bad) in the areas of
security, privacy and contract negotiations. If you'd rather talk with
us privately, please email me offline.
