Be aware that FileVault + Sophos's real time scanner have had some recurring issues that can affect deployments with deadlock at login. Current revisions of OS X + Sophos resolve it but we've had this symptom occur twice at various patch levels. We're migrating away from FileVault where possible. We also use Sophos for Windows and MAC. They also have a Linux client. We have successfully installed and continue to update it on the tree desktop OSes. However, we haven't done any extended testing on OSX or Linux based machines.
