I do not know of any data recovery services, but a friend of mine just used
Recovermyfiles (http://www.recovermyfiles.com/) to retrieve critical data
from a drive that he accidentally re-partitioned. He was trying to remove a
MS-Vista partition and accidentally removed ALL of the partitions! When
using the program, there was a mode to give it RAW direct access to the
disk. If the disk still spins, I'd try this or one of the others mentioned
before sending the drive off.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a data recovery service? I have a
faculty member needing to get data off of a failed drive.
