If you look under this tree in the Group Policy settings:

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Network
Connections\Internet Connection Firewall\Domain Profile

You will see an entry called "Windows Firewall: Define port exceptions"

The rule to open up the port for Symantec Antivirus is:
2967:UDP:*:enabled:Symantec Antivirus

This opens port 2967 (UDP) on the local firewall and names the exception
Symantec Antivirus.  We have tested this and it works just fine.  Hope this
helps.

Bryan, for the benefit of others running Symantec with XP clients, did
you find an automated way of creating the parent server exception?

Not yet, but it's something we believe can be controlled through Group
Policy, although that's a belief founded upon Microsoft's documentation,
not practice, so YMMV :D
