We have a client with 3 locations and a quite cumbersome custom application for the DSL speeds they can afford. In the main location they have a TermServ machine in which the remote sites use for this application. The application was incredibly slow when trying to run it normally from the database, but is almost not noticable through Term Serv and they save big money on bandwidth. I don't worry about security since both locations are connecting to the Terminal Server and email etc. through Netscreen vpn boxes. All logon authentications and data whether it's plain text or not, is protected inside the 3des encrytion tunnel. Roaming laptops can also utilize the vpn encrytption by connecting to the internet and then using a software provided vpn tunnel. The whole system works excellent. I think any manufacturer's vpn software or hardware would be fine. the key is the vpn tunnels. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
