Has anybody done/looked at CompTIA's Security+ cert. Is it a good cert to get because I eventually want to get into security but at the moment I don't have the experience/cash to do the SANS or CISSP courses (plus the fact that SANS is offered in South Africa)
This is supposed to be an excellent up and coming certification for Security professionals. It is evidently going to be required for all new federally hired Security people, and I think it is going to become something of a standard. It won't be as good for you as CISSP or SANS, most likely, but I think it's going to be a great cert to have. That is just from what I have read in a few places - no way to know for sure how it will be accepted/adopted by those who matter. Daniel R.
