I used to work with the NetApps. From what I remember the OS is really not much more than the NFS and CIFS protocols with a few Unix commands thrown in for usability. Much of the management is done by mounting /(root) and editing files in /etc. The command set is accessed by telnet'ing into the box. The shell is very minimal. Not much there other than the ability to call commands, no environment to speak of. Then there is the httpd that is standard on the box. I don't recall the port number, but I think is was something other than the 80. Over all a decent network filer. --mark
