Thanks guys, I'll check out the collages/universities that you guys recomended, plus thanks for all the tips. As for where i would like to study, it doesn't really matter as long as it's english and the costs are at the minimum On 9/18/10, BARBARA CHALEF <chalefb () bellsouth net> wrote:
Kenneaw State Univerity has a very good prgram at the undergraduate level if you want to be in the daily practice of computer security/forensics/pentesting/firewalling. If you want theory, then Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon (CIRT is located there), or any of a dozen major universities now offer computer security. Do you want the attention a small college might provide, or the stimulation that a huge university might confer? Try the University of Illinois, Urbana. Get internship experience before you graduate - maybe consider other universities with CIRTs, summer hires with the government, or internships with a corporation that interests you. Who do you want to work for when you graduate: corporation, government or consulting firm? Some consulting firms care about pedigree, i.e., did you graduate from an Ivy League College. I think that is stupid, skills, ability to tear apart code, and ability to learn on your own matter, but they do the hiring not me. There are some universities that received some funding and approval from the federal government. Check those schools out if you want to work for the government. As all people, I have trouble finding the right one ( or a good one ). So I'm asking you people to recommend any nice universities that teach good computer security, that is more practical than theoretical. Please also tell me to which university you attended and how was it? and any other general advice -- Kalgecin http://code.google.com/p/kalgecin http://kalgecin.110mb.com http://kalgecin.110mb.com/forums http://kalgecin.blogspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This list is sponsored by: Information Assurance Certification Review Board Prove to peers and potential employers without a doubt that you can actually do a proper penetration test.
