Robin,

This question has come up many times in another mailing list I'm a member of
and these three always get recommended for customers like us who run the
tools that we do:

        1) http://www.goscomb.net/
        2) http://www.linode.com/
        3) http://www.memset.com/

I've had personal experience with the last one and was open from the outset at
what I needed them for and what tools I was running on them. Their support
team were very quick at responding to any queries I had.

Hope these help.

Regards,

k41zen

For when I'm back freelancing I want a server "in the cloud" that I
can run my tools from. I was thinking a dedicated server but trying to
find a hosting company in the UK who would let me run tools is turning
out to be hard.

So I was wondering, am I going over board insisting on having a
dedicated server or would I get away with a VPS?

For my budget a VPS would be better but I don't want to get one then
have an incident caused by another user of the box and be found to be
negligent.

What do other people think?
