2009/4/30 Plesco, Todd <tplesco () chapman edu>:
If a student has signed an “Authorization to Release Student Information” to a parent, what are your policies concerning the disclosure of a student’s login & password to allow that parent access to that student’s electronic student records or other accounts?
Todd - we have a portal for parents. Students select what they want their parents to be able to access and provide them their own login information. Warning: I have no clue what the success rate is nor do I know how well our students or help desk staff like the portal. I was privy to details during early planning but my involvement ended when I transitioned to networking. As to credentials, we can only reset passwords. They can not be retrieved. kmw -- Kevin Wilcox Network Infrastructure and Control Systems Appalachian State University Email: wilcoxkm () appstate edu Office: 828.262.6259
