Our Help Desk developed a 30 minute presentation that is done during summer freshmen orientation. It's mandatory so every student has to attend. They get a VTNET cd which contains ensures their firewall is on, set for auto patch updates, installs AV software if needed. They're told to run the CD before connecting to our net when they come back for fall check-in. We've just completed our 4th year so hopefully we've cycled through the entire student body. Orientation seems to be the only time students listen to us :-). -Randy Marchany VA Tech
