You may want to write about the succession of network security devices and are they really all that effective. To whit, 
there was the IDS and now the IPS and so on. Is the IDS still relevant? Is the IPS the successor to the IDS? Are they 
both irrelevant? You could then go on to chronicle the weaknesses and strengths of each solution. Once done, you could 
then go on to offer what your ideal solution would be. That would easily chew up 80-120 pages. Food for thought.
