Has anyone heard of a Winkleman device? Wenlkeman or some other variation of the name. I believe it was invented by Arthur Winkleman (spelling?). I heard mention of this device during some talks about Vegas Casino security. The device is supposed to monitor all known broadcast frequencies / radio and TV (like VHF and UHF) electronic bugs, etc. Upon finding a signal the device could play back the data it "saw". The example I saw was in a casino where card cheats were using a small video device to view the number on the bottom of the cards the dealer was passing out. Someone in the parking lot would radio back to the guy with the video device and tell him what it saw on the card. A person on the gaming control board was in the casino monitoring with the "Winkleman device" and was able to pick up and view both the video stream the crooks were using as well as the audio conversation they were having.Greetings! I have several areas were no wireless communications are allowed cell phones, wireless PDAs, text pagers, 802.11x, etc. I frequently monitor these areas usingNetStumbler but that will only catch 802.11x traffic. How do I detect the rest of the wireless traffic? Thanks!BS __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? HotJobs - Search new jobs daily now http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/
If you can find the proper spelling of Winkelman this device may be of assistance to you.
