Yes, it should - I'll put it in for rc3, along with anything else. I want 4.0.0/1.0.0 released by Halloween... preferably before!

So presumably there will be bug-fix dot-dot releases, such as 4.0.1/1.0.1, 4.0.2/1.0.2, etc..

What would the next non-bug-fix release be? 4.1.0/1.1.0, with dot- dot releases, and then 4.2.0/1.2.0? Or would an "odd minor version for development snapshots, even minor version for releases" scheme be useful? (Wireshark's using the latter model; I have no particular preference at this point.)

Bug fix versions would be 4.0.1/1.0.1 - that's how it was done in the past, and I don't see any reason why we'd change it now.

Non bug fix - I too have no preference, but if Wireshark's doing the odd=dev, even=general consumption, that's a pretty common way of doing it, so unless someone has a compelling reason not to use it, it has my vote.

Given that you're the only one who's commented on the releases, I'm going to put rc3 out today... and since nothing else has changed, Final will go out Monday.
