You may want to look in the direction of academics that have been studying global internet censorship, specifically Ron Deibert of CitizenLab. I know they have tools that perform this and similar tests, although I don't think they're currently being publicly shared. I've just been on a test where I came across a transparent outbound web proxy which was blocking various requests. There was nothing special in the page that had the block message to indicate a vendor so I was wondering if there were any automated tools to try to spot which product was being used. I asked on Twitter and I got a few answers offering manual processes but I was just looking for an automated way to do it. Does anyone have a tool?
