Thanks for the info everyone.  I think I am going to send them it using the flashdrive's encryption.  While GPG seems 
like a nice option, I am not sure the reciever will want to work with it.  The flashdrive does have the ability to do 
256 AES encryption.  I think I'm going to send that.  It seems like it will be less work for them than the alternatives.

What type of information are you trying to protect?  This sounds like
a good use case for public key crypto.  Have you thought about
encrypting the files with GPG and then writing them to a CD?
