I understand that you haven't had much of a chance to tweak pfsense, but if
you find anything out regarding the IM logging, let me know. That was
probably one of the bigger reasons why I put up with the smoothwall
installation as much as I did. If I get a chance, I'll also take a look into
it and see what smoothwall is using.

I have an history with smoothwall  I have been using it on two networks for
a little over 3 years, the recent IDS update broke my snort and after trying
a bunch of stuff I decided I will install snort on another host.

Some features I like about it was the smothguardian web filtering, instant
messaging logging, both which comes in handy since I have young children in
the home.

I did manage to install pfsense on another host and but haven't found the
time yet to tweak it.
