The really cheap one is Jing http://www.jingproject.com/. It's made by
Techsmith and you can think of it as a really light version of Camtasia.
It's limited to 5 minute captures, but it is really simple. Free
version will only output to flash, but the "pro" $15 version will export
to MP4.

The screencasting falls under something that I've wanted to do.? Thanks
for the information on Mac applications.? I'll be trying them out.

Does anyone have one that runs under Windows, is a bit bet less awkward
to use than Camstudio, but doesn't cost as much as Camtasia?

Thanks,
Jason

You actually can just use Quicktime 10, they have a screen recorder
now. ?(If you are using Snow Leopard.)

        Hey Cody,

I use two different programs for screen capture in OS X:

Screenflick - pretty cheap and works well

iShowUHD - Seems to have better options and supports HD

I'm doing a new round of videos and I am going to try capturing and
editing (I use iMovie to add intro text, logos, etc...) and
        uploading
        (most will support HD uploads).

For audio I am using a headset with an iMic adapter. ?You can go
        crazy
here, but I use a Senheiser headset with the iMic and it sounds
        okay.

To make it a "podcast" or a "Videocast" you just need an RSS
        feed. ?Here
is where I'd love to recomend blip.tv <http://blip.tv>, but they
        pulled Tenable's videos
for terms of service violation but let other vendors keep their
        channels
(yes, I think Tenable was treated unfairly). ?So, others like
        vimeo and
you tube will allow you to make an RSS feed from your videos
        which gives
it more of a podcast feel. ?Always keep a copy of your originals
        though :)

        Cheers,
        Paul
