Ideas for Securing my FTP Server

I should have given a little bit more info:
Platform: Windows XP Pro
Using Serv-U FTP Server

I'm new to the linux world, so setting up an ftp server up and running might
be challenging experience. I might have to do this since Daemonshield looks
awesome and will do exactly what I need.  I might just start looking into
ubuntu.
