That says it all: the ARPANET was a noteable step in packet
communications, but it was a single network -- an internet
only occurs when multiple networks are interconnected.

It's too bad that some networking researchers are feeling
left out -- they did not get to participate in the Internet
project are hoping that if they focus enough media attention
on the ARPANET, everyone will overlook the facts.  Recently,
instructors teaching from my books have started writing to
me for clarification because their students encounter blogs
that claim the ARPANET was the Internet.  It's frustrating.

In addition to the Internet reshaping history, it seems
that Internet history is being reshaped...
