Dont know if this appeared on IP yet, but this morning after
receiving a notice from Comcast that my ability to send email
was arbitrarily cut off under the presumption that i was
sending spam, which i wasnt - but apparently Comcast has not
heard of email reply address spoofing - they urged me to go
to a link to get a 'fix'

I'm happy to put you in touch with one of my email anti-abuse engineers
or someone technical who can review with you what history they may have
on this.

When I went to the link i got following notice:

Comcast One Click Fix Library *We're sorry, Comcast One Click
Fixes are meant to run from Internet Explorer Only*

Apparently Comcast is only interested in supporting IE users,
and doesnt care about the 20% of the market that uses
Firefox, and other browsers.
More documentation for Comcast's lack of concern for its
customer's needs.

I would not at all characterize this as a lack of concern for customer
needs. Rather, this is more likely a reasoned judgement on how to
invest scarce development resources based on browser market share (which
has certainly changed since one-click fixes were developed several years
ago). I do not know where on the roadmap support for other browsers is,
but will forward this onto the guy who is in charge of one-click fixes.

I myself am a Google Chrome and Firefox user, and have gotten used to on
occassion having similar issues with a wide variety of websites. In
Firefox, you may want to try the IE Tab plugin, available at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419. As IE 8 comes out
and is more standards-based, I suspect our and other sites will be
better able to support a wider variety of browsers.
