more on Domain name registration scam by phone?

I got a similar call a few days ago, except this caller told me that  
they needed to fax me important information about my domain  
registration account and asked for my fax number. When I refused to  
give it to him he told me it was very important. I told him if it was  
so important, he could just email the information to me at the email  
address my domain registrar already has for me. He told me that was  
not possible because their email servers were down.  At that point I  
hung up.
