It's country-specific only. Their justification, when asked, is to claim that the video stuff included in the Vaios makes it impossible. because of differing standards. Funny how every other mfr can manage to deal with this. My new Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook P series, eg, with built-in DVD drive, CD burner, etc. And it can also take a month to get a Vaio serviced in the UK.
