One of my personal favorites comes from an ATM which had dropped its main programme and returned to XPee, with task 
bar, start button and all left on the screen with the taskbar minimised. So, load up MSPAINT and change the background 
to the following:

 And no ... wasn't I who did that, fished the image off the intarwebs.  =)
