They could have also come over from Samoa/(Micro/Poly)nesia. We know
that the Micronesians were able to _kyak_ thousands of miles over the
ocean to populate Hawaii. It doesnt sound too far fetched that they
could have also traveled through Micronesia to Easter Island and then
hit the Galapagos before landing in South America. That might also
explain why South America has a more robust past than the north
(pyramids, astronomy, irrigation, etc)

:-) Every European who isnt in Europe can claim that I believe, and
since we can be found on en masse on almost every Continent, I would
say our breed has some.. err issues ;-)
