I'm not sure, but many European countries write dates as 13-10-2006 (or 13.10.2006), in Finland this is the standard 
too.

The world should really standardize of the 2006-10-13 format so that dates
are like times with the units going from big to small.  If one also uses
leading zero (eg., 2006-01-02), then date strings are alphabetically
sortable.
