RE: Postage Is Due for Companies Sending E-Mail

I didn't think Spamhaus was selling any sort of service to anyone and
thus could hardly be competing with someone who is.

Even if they aren't selling anything (are they not? I'm not sure) they still
compete in that they have different approaches to the same problem. And in
any event Spamhaus has been publicly critical of Goodmail
(http://news.com.com/Anti-spam+groups+reject+e-mail+payment+plan/2100-1029_3
-6036032.html) on what sound like silly, extremist ideological reasons to
me.

"There should be no cost for particular services,
and e-mail should be free and accessible to all.
This will disenfranchise people," [Spamhaus CIO
        Richard] Cox said.

Gimme a friggin break. E-mail should be free, as in beer? I assume he has
similar problems with Postini and other for-pay mail services as well,
wouldn't he?
