I used this term only because the equation itself is extremely vague and
ambiguous, and thus can be - and indeed often is - used as a basis for
adding credibility to completely outlandish or outrageous claims. In the
field of computer security and risk assessment, the model is far often
misused or abused, than applied correctly...

Just like with buzzwords - there's usually nothing wrong with the
underlying term itself, but at some point, it is safer not to use it
unless absolutely necessary, or truly justified ;-) In this particular
context, I suppose we were better off without defining and quantifying
risk ;-)
