Can we get over this now ?  You both misread the OP if I'm not mistaken.
He specifically wrote :

Thereby clearly implying that he and his other staff WEREN'T using mIrc at 
all.  His management only _assumed_ they were, and therefore forbid irc.
Please, read more carefully...
