im sure a "trojan" heaven forrbid i said a bad word, has the ability to set resolutions remotely, overdriving the monitor. If i recall " Monkey-B" could destroy a mfm drive by smashing the heads to thier physical stops repeadly, it wasa debug command i belive. i could be wrong of course... wood http://exploitlabs.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "André Luís Quintaes Guimarães" <andreq () infolink com br> To: "Steve Wray" <steve.wray () paradise net nz>; <John.Airey () rnib org uk>; <full-disclosure () lists netsys com> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 1:56 PM Subject: Re: [Full-disclosure] Destroying PCs remotely?
Hmm, since kid I always thought interesting the idea of using apm to repeatedly turn on and off monitors and hard drives until they burn.
Off
course nowadays it would be kinda hard to suceed. I dont have much knoledge of the apm workings, any one knows if that
would be
possible? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Wray" <steve.wray () paradise net nz> To: <John.Airey () rnib org uk>; <full-disclosure () lists netsys com> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 5:18 PM Subject: RE: [Full-disclosure] Destroying PCs remotely?Interesting topic though, is it possible to *destroy* computers remotely at all? Destroy the hardware, that is. In the case of a rack *full* of Dell servers, I imagine that turning all the fans on full power would generate enough thrust to push the whole thing across the machine room floor... :)_______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it.
