The Firewall-1 backdoor Rumor, was caused and compounded by a couple of different items. First Another foreign Firewall was being looked at had some possible remote management issues. Of course this was jumped on as Checkpoint. Which it was not. Then followed the DOD issues of not allowing CheckPoint to protect or be placed classified network added more flames to the fire. Then Issues with Checkpoints FWZ Encryption Protocol and (port 0) caused more concern. The Best way to look at it, Checkpoint is the Number 1 in the market, so other vendors are going to take shots. This is business, and business practices at its worst, but this is acceptable in toady's markets, We know which vendors tell us the truth and which ones will lie to us. It's up to us to sift through the crap, and make an educated decision. Wish it wasn't so, But it is in the great race. Richard Rushing
