The issue is that many (most?) folks who use dynamic DHCP with short leases do so because the number of machines is larger than the pool of free addresses. This leads to the problem I noted.
Not in our case. We're using a class B address space internally. The reason I'm using short leases has to do with MS' implementation of RAS. I had quite a number of problems with remote connections until the lease time was reduced. Regards, Brian Steele
