At UD, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for information security governance, including 
strategy and program administration, policy development, enforcement and compliance, risk assessment, incident 
response, and training and awareness programs. The CISO oversees the IT-Technical Security and the IT Security Policy & 
Compliance teams and collaborates with IT staff who have specific security and disaster recovery responsibilities. The 
CISO also advises University departmental IT staff regarding security policy, procedures, and compliance issues. The 
CISO guides and councils the VP of IT, IT senior staff, and senior administration on institution-wide information 
security concerns. The CISO is a member of the VP of IT's leadership team.
