Just a testimonial after having benefited from working with Sharon this past semester on some of the Budget-Conscious 
InfoSec papers recently released by Educause. Sharon was great to work with, she was driven, really plugged into 
various data privacy and InfoSec realms, and knew how to organize ideas to articulate them to executive leaders.

If I thought I could convince my wife to move to Delaware I'd love to be a part of a team that would have a supportive 
CIO like I suspect you'll find in Sharon.

At UD, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for information security governance, including 
strategy and program administration, policy development, enforcement and compliance, risk assessment, incident 
response, and training and awareness programs. The CISO oversees the IT-Technical Security and the IT Security Policy & 
Compliance teams and collaborates with IT staff who have specific security and disaster recovery responsibilities. The 
CISO also advises University departmental IT staff regarding security policy, procedures, and compliance issues. The 
CISO guides and councils the VP of IT, IT senior staff, and senior administration on institution-wide information 
security concerns. The CISO is a member of the VP of IT's leadership team.
