We also provide a packet of materials for new hires to the university that we send to HR. For new hires within ITaP, 
the central IT unit, we have orientations that each group within ITaP hosts letting the new hire know what each unit 
within ITaP is responsible for.

I'm considering designing some verbiage for the CIO to include in a Welcome e-mail showing links to security awareness 
webpages, etc.

Does anyone have input in the initial email for a newuser?  Does your organization do this? Who manages and develops it?
