We have a mentoring program for new employees.  The mentors provide various materials which include an IT orientation 
document containing information on email use, security concerns, file and services access, telephone, voice mail 
guidance and more.  The mentors are available to help and answer questions about the materials.  In fact, the mentors 
are a point of contact for the new employees throughout their first days.  This mentoring is done over and above the 
standard HR orientation.  The mentors are volunteers and serve for 1 year.

I'm considering designing some verbiage for the CIO to include in a Welcome e-mail showing links to security awareness 
webpages, etc.

Does anyone have input in the initial email for a newuser?  Does your organization do this? Who manages and develops it?
