Re: IPS Device

We've deployed Tippingpoint devices at campus network border points. IPS detects along with information from Nessus
scans and campus honeypot feed a SQL database. Authorized campus unit technical staff can query the database for their
systems. In addition, email alerts from the SQL database are generated to technical staff by a background application.
The Tippingpoint addition has been extremely useful.

Subject: [SECURITY] IPS Device

I was wondering if other Universities have deployed an IPS solution as a defense in depth strategy. We are currently
looking at Tipping Point. Any comments on the solution are welcome.

Thanks
