But the IP the world sees for each end user doesn't change unless you nat them. In a nat scenario each packet leaving the network would be nated appropriately for the ISP link it is destined to exit. Correct? We have 2 ISP links that are load balanced but no nat so user IP x.x.x.x stays x.x.x.x not matter which link it goes out or what YouTube server the user hits. _________________________ Thank you, Gregory R. The heart of the issue are the distinct IP address ranges you receive from your different ISPs. YouTube uses cookies and 303 redirects to access their videos, and your client IP address must be the same during the entire IP session or YouTube will reply with a "Video Not Available" error. The crux of the problem is that YouTube pulls it's HTML content from separate servers than its video content, but they cross-check the source IP of your client packets to see if they match. YouTube is apparently staying "mum" on the issue and all I can find out on the web is conjecture and conversation about this problem. Here are a couple of links to blogs about the issue that may give a little more detail, but everyone is just as frustrated as we are (even the manufacturers of these load balancing devices). http://help.youtube.com/group/youtube-issues/browse_thread/thread/a036cf d69ec6f48f/323a8475c55cd8d7 http://help.youtube.com/group/youtube-issues/browse_thread/thread/d3366a 892631b6c3 http://lysine.org/2008/06/youtube-and-load-balancing.html David S. Traffic is routed out both pipes . So it seems we have a similar set up as Crown College. We haven't been able to identify what is causing this problem though. Over the summer, we picked up a redundant internet connection for a 2nd ISP in town. We have our Sonicwall firewall do percentage based load balancing across both pipes. We have the option enabled that tries to keep sessions routed through the same connection, but after setting all of this up, we starting seeing these youtube errors. I disregarded them, thinking they were the result of takedowns, until I tried to show one of my staff a video that I had watched at home earlier that day (and have watched since then). The errors are just coming up at the college... I have noticed the error in the past when my browser times out while attempting to contact whatever content server the media resides on. Usually refreshing the page kicks it into gear and the content loads. I have seen that a special message is displayed if the content is removed due to DMCA, something along the lines of "The content you have requested has been removed at the request of it's creator" --Kevin Kevin Hayes Network Security Analyst 225 Dodge Hall Oakland University (248) 370-2546 On Oct 13, 2008, at 4:23 PM, Morrow Long wrote:
Most likely that is the case when copyright material has been removed from YouTube based on a request of the intellectual property right owner. I'd noticed that NBC selectively pulled videos of a few SNL skits recently and left others (the Tina Fey / Sarah Palin skits) on YouTube and got the 'video no
longer available' message. On Oct 13, 2008, at 4:07 PM, Kubb, Rick wrote:Has anyone been having issues with the following Youtube error message? *We*re sorry, this video is no longer available*???
